BBE Events London

Freelance Work, 2019

Intro

The exhibition was based on promoting the Young Black British entrepreneurs of the UK and build the same supportive black communities here and help each other grow and prosper in their fields. As a graphic designer at the start, me and Sheila made an aesthetic board to narrow down her visual needs as she really didn't know what she wanted with limited time.

Recommendation

"It was such a pleasure working with Gurleen last year during the production of our Buy Black Friday exhibition last year in 2019. She was the lead graphic designer for this event and she was instrumental in supporting me to make sure my vision comes to life with the vibrant graphics she designed.

As a startup, we rely on volunteers or interns for help and most times I've found that interns can be unreliable, however, alongside juggling her education, Gurleen was very professional and has excellent time management skills considering her workload. We had weekly catchup calls to review the progress of the design process addressing any issues or concerns I may have had in a professional manner: you can even say we were ahead of time with virtual working because we never met in person till the day of the event 5 months later! Everything was done over the phone and Gurleen was able to produce what she was asked. Not only that but she also has an amazing personality which makes it even easier and fun to work with her because she brings her personality to the table which is very refreshing.

I would highly recommend Gurleen as a graphic designer to anyone looking to improve their brand's visual journey."
